Maria Franca Sibau is an associate professor of Chinese studies at Emory University (Atlanta, U.S). Her research interests include exemplarity in vernacular fiction, the debunking of Confucian exemplars, and comparative Italian and Chinese novella traditions. She is currently at work on a book-length project on the representation of motherhood in fiction and drama.
